Business 2021: Trends – The Worth of an App for Your Business

Many companies build their mobile applications to expand their business and unlock market reach like never before. Considering the time we are in, the digital age is quickly enabling users to adopt new technology as businesses catch up with it and look for new ways to offer their services. If you are the one who does not have the mobile app for your business, you must first know the benefits of having a mobile app. You are missing out on a big chance to attract potential customers, no matter how far they are without a mobile app.

The importance of mobile app development for business is evident today, as more and more users are looking to get things done virtually. On the other hand, businesses too, are changing the way they function. They understand the benefits of mobile apps for businesses and provide an easy way for end-users to instantly access company details and simultaneously keep them connected to their favorite brand and stay up to date.

What are the benefits of mobile apps for business?

1. Mobile apps aid promotion and offers great support

With great offers and promotions, you can build a mobile application for many prospective customers. Make sure you create an irresistible offer and notify through an app to enjoy the benefits of mobile apps for business. The idea is to reach out to a large customer base with your offers through a timely notification and in-app pop-ups. Such push notifications are a great way to start reaching out to the right people at the right time and that helps, especially when done in style. For example, push notifications with emojis have almost double opening rates than those without it.

2. Value addition through rewards/loyalty program

Businesses can’t work in a silo. There’s a definite amount of give and take involved in the business where the market responds to your offerings. The key to running a successful business always boils down to providing meaningful experience to the customers. The more you take care of your customers’ convenience and requirements, the higher are your chances of succeeding. The key is to remain available for them as a way of enabling multiple touchpoints to cater to their needs. One of the best ways to do so is to leverage mobile apps’ advantages and run a loyalty program. With more consumers engaging with your business and your brand, the better the rewards they earn. Offer them to spend those on the products that they are already looking for.

3. Unlock the power of better connection with customers

Move beyond the personal, face-to-face communication between customers and sales executives. With changing times that have made social distancing as a new normal post-COVID-19, more customers will look forward to connecting to businesses online. You can take the full advantage of a mobile app for your business by giving your customers a better point of contact. Imagine the power of having high-performance mobile devices at disposal for your business. Perhaps, this one is a definite game-changer in the coming times.

Second, the mobile app is not just a human being, prone to mood shifts and bad results. So you will also know that you are providing your customer with a robust mobile presence-an interface that aims to give them the best experience in testing, so deciding whether they want to purchase your product. The vast majority of marketers see their apps as a means to improve customer service primarily. There are many purposes for which customers use mobile apps. Take a look at the below image presenting the reasons for which they do.

4. Driving High Engagement Levels

Having a high level of engagement with customers would first need you to reach out to them. There are many benefits of mobile apps for business and one of the significant advantages is that of affordable reach. Connecting to potential customers was once an expensive affair, like advertisements on hoardings and newspapers and that too with an expiry date. The story is different now with mobile apps in the market. The key is to get as much closer as possible to your current and prospective clients and offer them a place to engage with your brand meaningfully.

Start creating brand awareness through mobile app development and spread your reach better. Your investment in mobile apps will help you reap benefits for longer. Working with Intelivita for developing mobile business apps would also ensure app security, timely updates, and effective app management.

Business 2021: Trends – Remote Work Alternatives Launching

It’s no secret that we are seeing a rise in remote platforms that enable businesses to give their employees remote working environments. With pubic health remaining a hot topic, it is important for businesses to examine how this will affect their own business and whether it is time to transition part of all of your team over to a remote working experience.

Let’s take a look at a few trending platforms:

Wrkfrce

Wrkfrce is a newly launched digital media company that is dedicated to providing its users with information, tools, resources, and job postings that can help them succeed in the “new normal” and what comes after.

Founded and led by Jesse Chambers, wrkfrce has established itself as the “only business of its kind that caters specifically to location-independent professionals and their employers.” In addition to spotlighting blog posts and interviews with remote leaders, wrkfrce offers a comprehensive database that allows users to browse through hundreds of thousands of remote job openings throughout the United States.

Slack

Slack is a channel-based messaging platform. With Slack, people can work together more effectively, connect all their software tools and services, and find the information they need to do their best work — all within a secure, enterprise-grade environment.

In Slack, team members send messages and share files in channels. Create channels for teams, projects, office locations, or anything else that’s relevant to your organization. You can make channels private for conversations that shouldn’t be open to all members, or you can use shared channels to collaborate with external organizations from your own workspaces.

Microsoft Teams

Teams is a chat-based collaboration tool that provides global, remote, and dispersed teams with the ability to work together and share information via a common space.  You can utilize cool features like document collaboration, one-on-one chat, team chat, and more.  Microsoft Teams is also fully integrated with many other Office 365 services, such as Skype, SharePoint, Exchange, and Yammer.

The following core capabilities are included in Teams:

Chat – Enjoy public and private conversations with your teams. The deep integration of Skype video into the application brings you popular social features, such as adding emojis and custom memes to your discussions.

Hub – Teams offers a shared workspace for the various applications in Microsoft Office including PowerPoint, Word, Excel, Planner, OneNote, SharePoint, Delve, and Power BI. This feature gives you and your teams the option to work natively without having to stress about toggling between applications as you try to get projects completed.

Business Trends 2021: Racial Inclusivity Resources & Training

2020 brought about many challenges and brought to light many issues that needed to be addressed – one of the top issues being about racial equality. The Whitehouse even put out an Executive Order On Advancing Racial Equity and Support for Underserved Communities Through the Federal Government just this month. Clearly it is an important issue for our society, so how should business take this into account and implement procedures accordingly?

1. Develop a Strategy for Inclusive Culture

Business leaders tend to think that how people are treated in an organization reflects how inclusive the culture is.

However, strategy plays an important role in influencing culture. It is the ultimate driver of organizational decision-making and resource allocation, while culture is meant to support the execution of strategy.

This will take more than DE&I training as a one-time event. Within smaller teams, for example, managers must establish psychologically safe environments in which people can be fully themselves and talk about their experiences.

Rather than taking a reactive approach with the induction of guilt and anxiety — if we don’t become more diverse, we will be vilified — organizations must be more proactive by taking strategic actions to thrive in a world that is becoming increasingly more diverse.

2. Connect with Your Employees

We invite you to consider the relationships you have with your employees at the moment. Do you think that the way you interact with your team members makes them comfortable to be open with you?

Truth is that the only way you can create an inclusive office is if everyone feels like they can speak to you and not be judged.

So as the first step in this journey to inclusion, make an active effort to connect with your employees authentically and at a personal level. Don’t make any assumptions about people’s lifestyles, but rather, let them open up to you.

Do keep in mind that this attitude might lead to some difficult conversations. Unfortunately, not everyone will adhere to an inclusive mindset.

As such, it’s crucial that you are well-prepared for these conversations, by knowing what to do if a client, partner, employee or manager judges or excludes someone and being prepared to stand by your beliefs even when someone is trying to challenge them.

Harvard has even compiled a list of resources for racism education, which can be found here

Business Trends in 2021: Employee Health Focus

Like many companies, your workplace probably looks a little different after everything that happened this year, whether you adopted a permanent remote work strategy, employ essential workers, re-opened your office(s), or managed a mostly deskless workforce.

But now that 2020 is over, we’re looking at what goes into your employees’ health and well-being. Even if your workforce will continue to be remote for the first half of 2021, well-being programs and benefits are more important than ever. Nearly half of employers see investments in health and well-being as an integral part of their workforce strategy, and 65 percent plan to expand their well-being programs in 2021, according to WebMD® Health Services.

Trend #1: Financial Health

There are many reasons for financial stress — crushing debt, lack of emergency savings, or no clear path toward retirement. Amidst these struggles, your employees are hoping you can help. Especially now, it’s important for your employees to have easy access to financial tools and resources to help them get back on track during these hard and uncertain times.

From financial literacy training and explaining how to save and plan for retirement to help with managing day-to-day finances and debt management education, there are many ways employers can help with their employees’ financial well-being.

Trend #2: Understanding Emotional and Mental Health

According to the American Psychiatric AssociationExternal Site, around 25 percent of employees have been diagnosed with depression — 40 percent of whom take an average of 10 days off each year as a result. The pandemic has only made things worse. In mid-July, more than half of all adults in the United States reported their mental health had been negatively impacted because of COVID-19.

According to two studies conducted by the Business Group on Health, employees are showing significant interest in using employer-sponsored mental health services like stress management programs, mental health apps, mindfulness meditation programs, and more. But, a survey from MetLife showed that nearly 60 percent of employees dealing with mental health issues think their employer doesn’t offer programs that meet their needs or the programs they do offer are too difficult to understand or access.

This means that offering mental health programs and resources is just one part of the solution — employers also need to actively work to reduce the stigma around mental health and using or seeking out these benefit offerings.

Trend #3: Tailored Health Solutions

When it comes to well-being, think quality over quantity. No matter the number of well-being programs you offer, it’s important to remember that one size doesn’t fit all. A fast-emerging trend in workplace wellness offerings is tailoring solutions to your employee population based on what they need. But how do you figure that out? The answer: Working with Wellmark Blue Cross and Blue Shield’s health and well-being consultants.

Moving Forward in 2021: Business Trends

Determining Business Direction Through Trends

Welcome to a new year! All of us business owners went through 2020 together, we felt the business landscape shift. For some of the business owners out there, this gigantic, unprecedented shift meant to scrap their business concept and start completely over with new products and services or to crack open a new industry completely. Other business owners were able to hang on by the skin of their teeth and make it out on the other side with a few bumps and bruises. Whichever side you found yourself on as a business owner, following the trends is going to be crucial in terms of your survival in this next phase of “normal”.

In the coming weeks, we will be exploring different trends that are being predicted for this new year. To start us off, here are some thoughts on how this shift will continue to play out in 2021, and how you can position your business to benefit:

Embrace how the crisis can produce positive changes

Sure, after polishing their websites, getting creative with social content, embracing new e-commerce options, and rolling out online ordering or curbside pickup, some businesses might revert to what was once ‘business as usual’ as we move deeper into the new normal of 2021. Don’t be that business. Instead, be the business that is permanently augmented for the better.

And it’s not just about digital. In Columbus, Ohio, gluten-free bakery owners Wendy and Letha Pugh say the pandemic prompted them to change the way they’re structuring their business on a sustained basis. They’ve increased wine offerings and other selections at Bake Me Happy to create a bodega-like feel for their shop, and they say they’re leaning even more heavily into engaging on social media as people have increased their screen time (a trend we expect to stick around).

Share your own story to showcase your business

Whether you are an extrovert or an introvert, your own story is literally the story of your business. Freres Branchiaux Candle Co.,  also known as FB Candle, is an award-winning artisanal candle company owned by three outgoing young brothers who are the face of the brand. In San Francisco, Hrag Kalejiban of Henry’s House of Coffee uses social media to tell the story of his family’s roots in coffee roasting. Their expressive photos connect their audience to the story of their business and draw people in.

Embrace your community

COVID endeared people to small businesses even further, and that will endure. In Labadie, Missouri, Derek Loeffel’s Labadie General Store has been open for just a few months and already has a wait-list of local vendors who want a spot in the shop. Loeffel, a full-time police officer who started working on his retirement gig, co-owns the store with his wife and brother. Starting a store during a pandemic inspired them to do regular virtual tours spotlighting individual vendors, along with online sales, curbside pickup and shipping. Our most recent survey of consumer buying patterns during the pandemic demonstrates the strong connection consumers feel: nearly three-quarters of people who had started shopping somewhere new said that at least one of those new businesses was a small business.
